“That’s a good age,” Emma said with a smile. “When I was twenty-three, Chris and I took a road trip across the United States.”

“It sounds romantic.”

“It was,” Emma assured her. “We weren’t married yet, but we were so full of life! Admiring all those breathtakingly beautiful landscapes by day, and then spending each night in bed with Chris… It was amazing.” She took the receipt Mia handed her and signed it. “Twenty-three is a good age for adventure I think. I imagine that's why you're on this ship.”

“I guess so,” Mia admitted. “After college, I could have gotten a normal 9 to 5 job, but I wanted to see the world.”

Emma found a napkin and began to write. “I thought as much,” she said with a smile as she scribbled on the tiny napkin. “I knew I sensed a kindred spirit. You know what they say, no one ever regrets the things they do as much as they regret the experiences they missed.” She slid the napkin across the bar to Mia. “You have a lovely evening my dear.”
